In celebration of the Year of the Monkey, Auburn Asian Welfare Centre organised a Street Parade with 60 dancing group members dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, dancing and beating drums while marching on the downtown streets of Auburn City Centre on the Lunar New Year Day on 13 February 2016.
Auburn Asian Welfare Centre was established in 1989 by a group of concerned residents in Auburn area. It is strongly supported by the local community, volunteers, government and non-government agencies.
It is registered as a charitable incorporated organisation and administered by a Management Committee. The Centre provides services to the local community with a particular focus in Chinese speaking residents in Auburn and neighbouring area.
